I’m not too familiar with the Heidelberg but have seen you post it a few times. How does it differ from the Westminister which most reformed seem to prefer and how the LBC which my church uses?

Hello James. The Heidelberg and Westminster differ from the LBC mostly in the area of baptism and some ecclesiology. If I may, rather than going into depth about the difference between the Heidelberg and Westminster, I am going to direct you to the OPC page on this topic : http://www.opc.org/new_horizons/NH05/HeidelbergWestminster.html

I grew up in the PCUSA and the UPCUSA before that. There was a time when this denomination was faithful although not too many people remember those days anymore. Sometimes they put out a good book. There are still some good faithful pastors in there but not many left.

Frances I agree that the direction of the PC (USA) is disheartening. This book wasn’t explicitly PC (USA) but did use some progressive language which I felt was a bit telling (e.g. partner instead of spouse).
