Great review. Thanks! I’m looking forward to getting this book. Colson has always been one of my favorites. I used to listen to his radio show all the time.

I liked Colson a lot until he went all pagan on us and got together with the Catholics. But all of that aside I’m more interested in the ways he remained faithful to Christ by his involvement in politics. It surprises me to hear you say he was R2K but it just goes to show how someone can get so much right even with a wrong view of the kingdom. This sounds like a book worth buying. Not too long and touches on the best of Chuck Colson.

Colson’s genius was to remain distinctively Christian in a world which was increasingly secular. He played with the big boys and yet always remembered that he was a sinner at his core. Not too many people can resist the temptation of fame and power like he did. And this includes those in ministry and in politics.

Darius, Chuck Colson was definitely Reformed 2 Kingdom. He made it very clear that he did not believe that we can build the kingdom by transforming cultural but by the gospel alone. He was influenced by many who felt the same. I don’t have a problem with the ETC and Manhattan Declaration as long as we don’t give up on the important issues. Justification by faith alone is a key issue but it was clear that the distinction remained intact.
