  1. I still think it is important to identify with a denomination because those create boundaries and accountability but I also see why it seems useless. Interesting about the catholic church keeping people on their role even when they no longer identify as catholic. I know so many people who were born catholic and are now christian. But they still count them in their numbers because they were baptized as babies? So basically when they brag about their numbers which they seem to do a lot of it’s all a farce. I know it’s different in other countries but here there are way more christians than catholics. Just take the top two megachurches in your town and you probably exceed the number of catholics. Then add in the middle sized churches and the many small churches.
